Program Managers’ Series
This quarterly series offers program managers an opportunity to explore key issues in adult literacy policy, instructional leadership, and program administration. Sessions typically include presentations by researchers, public officials, and other leaders within the field, as well as time for program managers to network with their colleagues. In every session, participants have an opportunity to discuss research or policy documents, reflect on individual program practices and concerns, and work with fellow managers to develop action steps to incorporate what was learned. Examples of past sessions include:
- The History and Future of the Workforce Investment Act and the National
Reporting System - Effecting Policy Change through Grassroots Advocacy
- Classroom Dynamics in Adult Education
- Understanding Reading Theory and Literacy Instruction
- Assessment Tools in ABE and ESOL
- Integrating Health Literacy into Adult Literacy Programs
