are going to read reviews of the book we are reading in class and when we
are finished with the book, we will write and post our own reviews.

I
Reading
Other Readers' Reviews
- Double-click
on the "Netscape" icon.
- Click
in the white box next to the word "Location:". Note that
the text becomes highlighted in blue.
- Type:
www.amazon.com
- Then
press the key.
- You
will get a screen similar to the one below. You are now at the biggest
virtual bookstore. Find the part of the screen that says Search. Click
on the arrow next to all products and select Books.
- Type
in Bread Givers and click on Go.
- You
will see a page with links to details about various editions of the book.
Click on the first link.
- Scroll
down the page till you see reviews. Read the professional review and then
read some of the customer reviews. Choose one that you agree with and
one that you disagree with. Write down the writer's opinion and explain
your reaction to it. How many readers reacted positively to the book?
How many reacted negatively?

II
Writing
Your Own Review
- Now
that we have finished reading the book and you have read other people's
opinions about it, you are ready to write your own review. We will do
it right on Amazon.com.
- Scroll
down the page with reviews until you see "I have read this book, and want
to review it." Click on review.
- Now,
you should have a template for you to fill out. First give the book as
many starts as you think it deserves. Remember, the more starts the better
you think the book is. Then write in you one line summery and your review.
When you are finished, click on preview your review.
Your
review will be posted on Amazon.com in about a week. We will come to check
it and read your reviews on line. When it's up, you will be able to tell your
friends and family to check out your work on the Internet!
